Museum Mayer van den Bergh Online Collection

You can access and search the entire Museum Mayer van den Bergh collection via this page, including objects that are not currently on display in the museum.

The Museum Mayer van den Bergh houses the collection of one man: Fritz Mayer van den Bergh (1958–1901). The rich and varied collection you can now explore here online is the result of his wide-ranging and thoroughgoing passion and knowledge. Mayer van den Bergh’s art collection reflects his special interest in the visual arts of the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance, with a particular focus on Pieter Bruegel the Elder. The Baroque period and the decorative arts are also represented here.

With almost 6,000 items, the museum offers an inexhaustible source of discoveries, including paintings, drawings, sculpture, reliefs and manuscripts. Not to mention a wide range of applied art objects, from weapons to 2,500 coins and medals, textiles and choir stalls. Eighteen of the museum’s works have so far been added to the Flemish Community’s official Masterpiece List.
